ABOUT
The nervous system is influential and impressionable; it can change and so can you. It may seem enigmatic, but its cues can be understood as doorways into our state of mind and body, and we can learn ways to shift our states in fairly simple ways. If you feel over or underwhelmed, stressed, or perplexed, come join us!
In this 4-week cohort we will explore the nervous system through the lens of polyvagal theory. I will teach you accessible psychoeducation that can help you understand how your nervous system functions while supporting you to developing flexible choices in response to the inevitable stressors of life.
The first class will involve introductions, creating the group container, and psychoeducation that helps us all speak a similar language. The following classes will be rooted in reflection prompts, guided explorations, and the creative process. *Have drawing materials!* There will be opportunities for sharing and time for question and answer. In the final class we will close together, reflecting on practice and ways to bring the learnings into everyday life.
You will go home with a resource list of simple, practical practices to help you become aware of and collaborate with your nervous system. These practices can increase your capacity to stay present with your internal experience and external world and be integrated into your life.
