ABOUT

The nervous system is influential and impressionable; it can change and so can you. It may seem enigmatic, but its cues can be understood as doorways into our state of mind and body, and we can learn ways to shift our states in fairly simple ways. If you feel over or underwhelmed, stressed, or perplexed, come join us!

This 5-week cohort explores the nervous system through movement, drawing, writing, and real-life examples. It is designed to help you become aware of how your nervous system conveys information, track fight/flight and freeze feels in your body, and provide you space to discover how to come back into connection and have flexible responses.

The first class will involve introductions, creating the group container, and psychoeducation through the lens of polyvagal theory that helps us all speak a similar language.

The following classes will explore fight, flight, freeze and social engagement through reflection prompts, drawing, movement and small and large group sharing.

In the final class we will close together, reflecting on practice and ways to bring the learnings into everyday life.

You will go home with a resource list of simple, practical practices to help you become aware of and collaborate with your nervous system. These practices can increase your capacity to stay present with your internal experience and external world and be integrated into your life.
